Home Security is always important but more so when the economy is taking a nose dive like now. More and more people are losing their jobs and some can't even collect unemployment.
When times are hard, like now, there are more break-ins than when the economy is more stable. People become desperate and those who would normally never even think of breaking-in will do it to steal to buy food for their families.
You also have the common thief stealing when ever he finds a good opportunity.
Money is tight so what can be done to keep your property and home secure with out spending a fortune.
Look at the perimeter of your home, where is the most likely place for someone to sneak in at?
Is your garage towards the front of property? Do you ever park your cars in the driveway?
Can you see the driveway from the part of the house you spend the most time in?
Do you have a side door to the garage that is not visible from the front?
Can someone easily enter your back yard? What keeps them from doing so?
Can they be seen by anyone if they are in the back yard?
If you have a wood fence, block wall or plants that screen the view into your yard its more appealing to intruders. It's usually not hard to jump a block wall or scale a wood fence. Sometimes plants climbing a fence will keep others out if they have thorns or lots of vines to get caught in.
A Perimeter Alarm can be used to notify you that someone is walking up drive way or side walk or entering the back yard.It can also be used to tell you someone has entered your RV or boat.
With the right home security perimeter alarm set-up you will know exactly where the intruder is. Most alarms just go off and you have no idea where to look.
Wouldn't it be nice if the alarm told you where the problem was with out having to look at the alarm panel?
I have found one that does exactly that. It speaks to you in the house but also will sound an alarm outside and turn the lights on in the area where the intrusion has occurred.
You can place the senors to monitor the front, back and other areas of your property. I want to know if someone gets into my back yard or walks down my long driveway. So my sensors cover those areas. I have 3 two car garages that run across the back part of property that is not fenced off so the driveway sensor also covers this area.
This way I know if someone is out there when my dogs are off duty being spoiled in the house. Which can be fairly often depending on the time of year.
This system covers very well considering the property is almost a 1/2 acre. It is wide and deep which makes it important that the sensor can transmit 1000 feet through open space and 300 feet through walls.
What I also like is the fact that you record your own announcements. "Car in driveway", "person at boat garage","backyard intruder" or "someone by pool". I dislike the pre-recorded voices that startle you or are hard to understand. This way you can name the area by your terms and not try to match areas with pre-recorded names.
The Voice Alert Driveway and Home Alarm does all this and more. It is also wireless so it is super easy to install.
Even more important it is a very affordable Perimeter Home Security system. The system starts at $149.95 which includes base and one sensor. You can add extra sensors to monitor up to six zones at once.
You will find the Voice Alert Driveway and Home Alarm under Home Protection heading on page. Please visit the page and see the full information regarding this alarm system.
I feel this is one of the least expensive ways to protect your property and your self and family from intruders. Walking out into your back yard could be dangerous if someone else is out their that you are not aware of, surprised thieves do stupid things when they panic.
A Home Security perimeter alarm is your first line of defense.
The alarm notifies you and you stay in the house and look out side to see if its a false alarm caused by a family member or something more serious.
Do not go out and take an intruder on! Call 911 immediately.
Wait for the cops to show up and do their jobs. Keep your home secure by not opening a door to go out.
Do you have a home security alarm system installed in your home?
These can be very inexpensive to install (free) but the monthly fee can be more than you want to pay.
So what is the alternative?
We all know that a monitored system is the best to have but that is why they are expensive, there are people sitting at monitors watching for alarm notifications.
You need an alarm that is monitored but with out having to pay for the private service. You don't want an alarm to notify the closest law enforcement either. They will fine you big time for false alarms.
Get the best monitoring system there is, you chose who is auto dialed and what the message is plus allow them to listen to what is going on inside of the house.
The first person you want notified is yourself or family member. Then another reliable person maybe a neighbor who is a "busy body" type. You chose who to call and in what order. The police and/or fire department can be called also.
The alarm is going off out side so it will hopefully scare whom ever away but it will also get neighbors looking in that direction and possibly get information to catch the thieves.
The wireless home security alarm systems that are DIY number in the thousands, the one shown here is a good basic unit with everything you need to get started you can add components to it as needed also. It comes with a full 90 day guarantee so if it doesn't meet your needs you can return it with out question.
It will not cover a large house (3,000 square feet) but is meant for a smaller home. Home Security alarm systems come in different sizes so be sure to see what each unit will handle. If you have 20 windows that need sensors you have to be sure the unit will receive that many transmissions.

You will find a couple more Home Security systems of this type on my Amazon Store. One is similar in size and performance to the Mace and the other is a larger home security system. These systems come highly recommended and do the job well also.
I have also included security cameras one of which is wireless and does not require a PC in the same location. It works wireless over the Internet so you can monitor the interior of your home and use your work computer to check on things. You can also monitor it with a cell phone. This is the best rated unit of this type.
The Photo will take you to my Amazon store and it is located in Home Security Category. You can search all of Amazon.com from with in my store. If you can't find what you are looking for on Amazon then it is probably not available on the Internet or is only available from manufacturer/distributor locations.
