DOWNLINE PROSPECTING


INTRODUCTION


Downline Prospecting is about recruiting the right people to join your business.

If you have not joined a MLM Opportunity or been to a Business Plan Meeting yet then this will give you an idea of what you will be introduced to.

Most meetings are held in hotel banquet rooms, as you enter you are signed, this is usually free until you join then there is a small charge to cover room rental expenses.

You will be introduced to other members of the "team", remember not all of these people are part of your sponsors team or down-line. There could be anywhere from 50 to 100 plus people present.

You will see a table with books and CD's these are being sold by the person presenting the meeting. This is someone far up in the area team.

The speaker for the evening will be introduced and welcome all new recruits. The speaker will use a marker board to present the Plan. The Plan is all about Motivation. Each company has the best products and everyone will want to buy them from you. Everyone will also want to join the opportunity. All you have to do is go out and tell all your friends, family and anyone that comes within three feet of you about it.

You recruit 3 they each recruit 3 and those 3 each recruit 3 and bingo you re making thousands every month!

How do you go about recruiting?

You will be "trained" by your up-line and they will help you build your business. They help you make calls from your list and schedule interviews to get the prospect to a meeting.

Your so called "training" is duplicating your up-line.You will be lent a few "Training" CD's to listen to.

The CD's are sold buy the top people on your Team along with other materials to help you build your business.

Does this seem like a good way to learn how to become an Entrepreneur?

Do not count on it. The CD's are Motivational speeches and do not teach you anything about building a business. Do not get me wrong some of these CD's are very good at motivating you to just go out and talk to everyone you see.

The Team Leader says that everyone can be a success and earn thousands of dollars every month by duplicating their up-line.

Ask to see the down-line structure of the first 5 to 10 people above you. Its doubtful if they will show you. Most of this group will not have more than a very few people under them. Nor will they be making thousands of dollars in profit.

In fact the majority will be spending more on products each month than they will make in 6 months. Buy $150.00 of product and sell $150.00 to customers and you will get a check for approximately $25.00 - $30.00. That still leaves you out $120.00. But these are products you buy each month from the store and you are now buying them from yourself instead. So that expense really isn't an added cost its part of your normal monthly expenses. Of course this depends on the "Opportunity" you are joining.

The only way you will learn to build a business is by learning how to be a business person. You have to learn how to market your business yourself. That means you need a Downline Prospecting business plan.

The company does not do this for you. They might give you a company website for your customers to order through but that site is a replica site. You might even have to pay a fee to be able to have your "own" site provided.

Generally you are not able to modify the site in any way.

This site is not a marketable site it is more like a sales catalog. No one can even find it through a search engine.You have to give customers the exact URL in order for them to reach your site.

You can not reach a target market this way.

So how are the top producers in your company building the huge down-lines?

They are not going to teach you business marketing they are not worried about you developing a solid down-line that stays with the business. As long as new people sign up and stay a few months they have the income from thousands of turn overs.

Now what are you going to do? If you like the products and believe they are quality products go ahead and join.

Downline prospecting is a search for a desirable team member, not a hunting trip. You need to interview interested people just as you would if you had a local business and needed sales personnel. Think like a business person and only spend time interviewing people who are interested and qualify.

You are not hiring an employee you are looking for business partners. There is a major difference when it comes to selecting the right people for your business team.

Being the owner of your own business means you are a successful business person. You are not begging people to work with you. The business owner is not a sales man, he is the expert in his business, a Consultant. A respected individual.

You don't need to convince a downline prospect to join your team, you want someone interested in building a business partnership.

Picture yourself as the successful entrepreneur an expert. Keep this picture in your mind at all times. If you can't see it you can't be it.
