Direct Sales Marketing, how to build your customer base and down-line. With out harassing family and friends or those people who come within three feet of you.

The problem with most MLM Opportunities is that they do not teach you how to market the opportunity. They do not teach the difference in selling and marketing.

They say they have a “proven system” and instruct you to duplicate it. That system is no longer effective let alone efficient. It is difficult to do because you are selling when you approach a contact.

The contact has not voiced a desire for your products nor the Opportunity, you are a sales person to them and they are not open to your sales pitch. When they say they are not interested you are told to just approach more people.

This is their Proven System, in stead of a Direct Sales Marketing plan, you are trying to sell the opportunity.

Your goal as an IBO, distributor or representative is to build a customer base and recruit prospects to build your down-line. In order to be found by those seeking your opportunity or products you have to promote your business. The World Wide Web is where every one searches for information and products. Direct Sales Marketing will drive your targeted market to your site.

With out a web presents you are not reaching your target market. By following the Proven System and not Marketing your Direct Sales Opportunity you are not reaching the vast majority of interested prospects.

You are always selling when ever you approach someone and most of us tend to resent sales pitches when we have not asked about the business or products.

So how do you market your Direct Sales business with out violating the company rules?

You need to know when you are Selling and when Marketing. If you are using the art of persuasion you are selling. You are trying to influence another to gain your desired results.

If you are Marketing then you have presented your business so that the contact wants to buy. It is their desire for your product or opportunity, they want it and buy it. There has been no pressure from you to get them to reach your desired results.

You are not a sales rep. you are a consultant when you deliver the information they are seeking. You have gained their Respect by meeting their needs. Giving helpful information that is not biased earns their trust. You have used Direct Sales Marketing to reach your target and therefore they are ready to take the next step.

Direct Sales Marketing, is similar to selling in the final result. To be good at both selling and marketing you need to put the other person first. Do not start out pitching anything until you know what the persons needs are and meet those needs.

In Direct Sales you are asking questions in order to gain the information to meet their needs.

You can not ask questions directly to your internet targets so how do you know their needs?

By researching the people who purchase your type of products. This is known as Market Research. You need to know who they are, what they are seeking and meet their needs.

Lets say you are promoting Vitamin Supplements, you need to know what these supplements will do for your target market. If one gives you more energy then you would write a web page targeted to those who are feeling tried or wanting to increase their energy level. Compare it to others on the market giving pros and cons on each supplement. Explain the benefits of the supplement and other ways it can help.

You never want to present a biased view. You can recommend your supplement and lead to your product site with out pressuring for a sale. Be the consultant, giving information that helps the person, do not try to force them into buying your product.

Your Direct Sales Marketing site should cover different topics that are related to your business, giving multiple choices for the target to gain information from. This helps them and shows you are an "expert" in this area.

Only truthful proven facts can be stated regarding any product. Be sure you don't mislead anyone.

Offer a newsletter on supplements that requires them to sign up for with a first name and e-mail address. Include a privacy statement that ensures the information will not be shared with others. Your newsletter has to have an opt-out option also.

The majority of the time a first time visitor will not make a purchase so you need to be able to bring them back to your site. A newsletter with high quality content will keep your site visible and they will return. You have proven that you are concerned and want to help them. They will find value in your information and trust you. That is when they will come back and purchase your products.

You have gained a customer and when the products live up to and surpass your claims they will tell others and increase your traffic. Resulting in a growing customer base.

How do you grow your down-line?

You use the same basic idea but you develop web pages on Direct Sales or MLM Opportunities. This area is way to large to compete in so you chose a Niche area and provide content rich pages. Your Newsletters also contain information on your Business Opportunity with your URL. If they are interested in having their own business they have an invitation to visit your site.

Your site does not focus on your opportunity. It would be your target market possibly "earn money from home". The content would be about how to earn money from home, giving different ideas and showing how it can be done.

You lead into your opportunity by telling them about it and how you manage the business. Discuss the need for Direct Sale Marketing and how to use this to build a business.
